Blue Coat Named WAN Optimization Market Leader in Nemertes PilotHouse Awards

Top Place Based on Combined Technology, Customer Service and Value

SUNNYVALE, Calif., September 15, 2010 – Blue Coat Systems, Inc. (Nasdaq: BCSI), the technology leader in Application Delivery Networking, today announced that it has won the Market Leader position in the Nemertes Research 2010 PilotHouse Awards for WAN optimization solutions.

The PilotHouse awards are based solely on the "views and experiences of actual IT staffs, the buyers of optimization vendors' wares" in three categories: technology, customer service and value. Blue Coat achieved strong ratings in technology and customer service, but won as a consequence of an especially strong rating for value or what Nemertes calls "bang for the buck." Blue Coat's WAN optimization solution includes video delivery, integrated security and optimization and acceleration for Web content and applications in addition to traditional files, storage, backup and email optimization.
